Brett's Birthday

Happy Birthday to Brettskybrew. We went out in Gloucester and had dinner with Brett, Bridget, Emanual, Courtney and her boyfriend. We went to alchemy and I had the bbq plate which I highly recommend. It was interesting as we bumped into several other vikings and even a viking teacher.

Phase 1

This weekend we rolled up our sleeves and got our hands dirty at the new store. Krissy and I bought 1 gallon of hunter green paint and it was just enough for one layer of paint. Family members stopped by to give a hand and creative suggestions to help us figure a few things out. The sink is in place and it looks great, this weekend the work continues...

Back from Buffalo (and Canada)

Well, we went to Buffalo and then took a quick trip to Canada.

(this is the real Canadian flag)

The trip was fun and like most vacations it went by way too fast. We had a chance to go to Niagara Falls and visit the town called "Niagara On The Lake" which was really amazing. It was a mini napa valley with vineyards and quant little shops. Niagara-on-the-Lake was named the prettiest town in Canada in 1996 by Communities in Bloom, a nationwide beautification program (which is really saying something considering it's competition is Jasper, Banff, Victoria, and Kelowna to name a few)

Here are a few Videos from the trip:

We had Christmas with my Dad and Bette, here are a few pics from the trip:

Georgia loved washing dishes (lets hope she continues to do so)

It rained most of the time when we were there. I think "lake effect" now means the lake just drops on you.

Buffalo

It's 11:45 and we are ready for bed. Mini-Muffin is sleeping on the couch because she had a "mini-accident" in her bed.

I'm just finishing up one of my Christmas presents for my dad (buring CD's)....I have some great speeches here and I'm excited to give it to him.

Hopefully we will be able to post pictures from Buffalo through our cell phone but we will see if we can get that technology up and running.

Tomorrow at 9AM will be Georgia's 2nd plane trip, this time she will have a better understanding of what is going on so I look forward to her excitement of being "up in the blue."

This picture was taken the last time she was on a plane when we flew to San Diego.

Portsmouth NH

Yesterday was a rare 68 degree day and Krissy and I were enjoying it in Reading when we decided to hop in the car and go to Newburyport. Once in the car, Krissy had a few conversations on the phone and I was playing tetris and before we knew it - we passed the Newburyport exit and were at the NH/Mass line.

I said "well, we should just keep going and have fun in Portsmouth" and Krissy agreed.

Our first stop was to visit one of the greatest bars in New England, the Coat of Arms. This place is the only bar that has a snooker table on the east coast.

It has become a custom for me to take a picture of anyone I am with posing in the English telephone booth.

I had to order a Maudite:

And then we walked around for a bit'...

...and ran into some fellow Vikings. Corey Contrino and Erin Cronin were eating when we walked into one of the places, it was good to see them and catch up.

Portsmouth - this (not Boston) is the hub of New England. The water is right there, the Mts. are 45 mins away and so is Boston. This quant villiage connects the Boston/North Shore with New Hampshire and Southern Maine. I have yet to visit Newport RI but so far, this is the best coastal village to spend money in.
